The Calgary Flames shot a music video in 1986. This is the result. The Found Footage Guys asked for a copy when they were in town this past weekend and were rewarded. Someone found a copy at a thrift store in NE Calgary and gave it to them. This video is, well, RED HOT!!
Items to look for include:
- Mike Bullard’s caterpillar. This ’satche is wicked.
- The double-riser keyboards. Prism must be soooo jealous!
- The Brass Horn section. One question - why?
- Brett Hull before he turned into a lazy pylon.
- The duet of Neil Sheehy and Tim Hunter. Goons never sounded so good!
- The nice golf shirts all of your favourite Flames are wearing. Fashions By Bearcat?
Before you get too excited about the copper shortages and the fact that if you could melt down your pennies you would make more money per pound of copper ($4.16 per pound) than a pound of pennies, here is a few points to consider:
- Where are you going to get a smelter?
- Pennies are not pure copper. There is close to 90% zinc and other bits of metals in a penny.
- Pennies and fountains. A match made in heaven really.
- Penny. A nice name indeed.
A story on this penny shortage can be found here:

The Calgary Underground Film Festival (CUFF) is presenting The Found Footage Festival this Saturday January 20th. It is a live comedy event and screening that compiles over an hour’s worth of footage from videotapes that were found at garage sales and thrift stores, and in warehouses and trash bins throughout the USA.
Curators Joe Pickett and Nick Prueher will be attending the Calgary screening and will provide their unique observations and commentary on these found video obscurities. From the curiously-produced industrial training video to the forsaken home movie donated to Goodwill, the Found Footage Festival resurrects these forgotten treasures and serves them up in a lively 90-minute celebration of all things found.

Van Halen was just inducted into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame. Rad-ness!
Check this out - A British interviewer hooks up with the Monsters of Rock tour, asking both AC/DC and Van Halen to find out who is the most supreme in rock. Is there a rivalry between the two bands? A Battle of Giants you might say? Jolly good - Let us find out! Look for the following gems:
- Van Halen’s choices of sunglasses and beverages, as well as Alex Van Halen’s suit.
- AC/DC’s choices of sunglasses and beverages, as well as Brian Johnson’s lid.
- David Lee Roth’s voiceover “modulation”.
- The book titled ‘The Complete Air Guitar Handbook’ - If you see this, pick it up!!! I am looking for this book and will not trade a kidney for it.
