1986-2002 Prisoners Of Love

Playlist..Uhhh..list

Monday, October 2nd, 2006

In the interest of the fans and my allergy to them all, here is a list of the songs I played last week on ‘Allergy to the Fans’- Friday September 29 2pm to 4pm MST. I was also fortunate to have the chance to talk to filmmaker Todd Whitham and songwriter Jason Chesworth who were in town for the Calgary International Fillm Festival. They were promoting the film ‘Saturday Night at Morley Gibsons’ which documents the making of a record by Jason’s group The Pocket Co. And, if it couldn’t get any better, Elizabeth May - the new leader of the Green Party  - stopped by for a chat while on campus to speak to members of the Alberta wing of the Green Party.

Ahhh yes - the list of tunes:
A-Bones “Rock the Boat”
The Alarm Clocks “No Reason to Complain”
The Tradewinds “Aba-daba-do-Dance”
Supersuckers “Here I Am”
Ultra Violet Booze Catastrophe “Long Tall Texan”
The Count Five “Psychotic Reaction”
Skid Roper “Polka polka”
Mr. T Experience “Tomorrows Harsh Mistress”
Nick Cave “Wanted Man”
The Pocket Co. “Fine Looking Woman”
Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet “Popcorn”
Flaming Lips (Live at KCRW in LA) “Buggin”
Sufjan Stevens “Chicago”
Architecture in Helsinki “Frenchie, I’m Faking”
Swingin’ Neckbreakers “Good Lovin’”
The Amboy Dukes “Baby Please Don’t Go”
Archie Bronson Outfit “KINK”
Project Bicycle
Montgolfier Brothers “Even If My Mind Can’t Tell You”
The Tyde “County Line”

The show also included a lovely reading of Al Pacino’s “Any Given Sunday” locker room speech by CJSW’s own K-Dawg. Magic really…
