Mother, Is There Any Other?

Monday, March 26th, 2007

Mr.T is the greatest. Why? Too many reasons to mention really. From the boxing ring to the A-Team to surviving cancer, Mr. T has almost done it all. He even recorded several amazing tracks about being cool, staying away from drugs and even a song about mothers - your Mom included. This clip is a sample of the man who’s first name is Mister, middle name period, last name T.

Listen for the line: “E is every wrinkle I put on her face/and every worry I caused when I stayed out late”.

Oh My - Just a Small Time Boy?

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

File Name: Time You Will Never Get Back
RE: Just A Small Time Boy

Everyone knows about the ubiquity of air band videos on youtube. There almost should be a law prohibiting some of the content. There almost should be a law against Journey. But that would be censorship and the law might prevent this video from happening and perhaps, without Journey, you might have never been born.

What to look for? The best part is one minute into the video. Wow. The second best part is about three minutes in - solid air-guitaredness! Remember don’t stop believing!!!

Pennies turn to Nickles?

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

Before you get too excited about the copper shortages and the fact that if you could melt down your pennies you would make more money per pound of copper ($4.16 per pound) than a pound of pennies, here is a few points to consider:
- Where are you going to get a smelter?
- Pennies are not pure copper. There is close to 90% zinc and other bits of metals in a penny.
- Pennies and fountains. A match made in heaven really.
- Penny. A nice name indeed.

A story on this penny shortage can be found here:

Well - Welcome to Allergy to the Fans

Sunday, October 1st, 2006

Yes indeed - Very exciting times for me. This is my first foray into the world of having my own web page. For the record, I am still not sure this Internet thing will stick around. The abacus is making a big comeback in some tech circles and I think that I read somewhere that smoke signals would be popular too if it wasn’t for city bylaw restrictions and the lack of good firewood. Oh and the wind - that can really bugger up ones attempts at communicating with smoke.

‘Allergy to the Fans’ is the name of my radio show on CJSW Radio in Calgary, Alberta Canada. I try to play a wide mix of music, interview a number of different guests and in general, goof off to anyone willing to listen. I hope to post a collection of thoughts, pictures and stories for you to enjoy. Stay tuned….
